i'd like to see a fic challenge once a month and then perhaps a smaller drabble / ficlet challenge once a week-- even just a really basic prompt, or a post where people could give their own prompts for drabbles/ficlets they'd like to see. just to encourage us all to write as much as possible, lol. :D

I'd love a monthly or bi-monthly challenge! Any more often than that and it might start feeling like this is more of a challenge comm than a general fic comm -- not that there's anything wrong with challenge comms (and I would join a challenge comm for rebootverse so fast), but I like this one being mostly focused on the fic. :)

Yeah, I don't want this to turn into a challenge comm which is why I didn't put an option for anything more frequent than every two weeks. Personally, I'd lean toward once a month or every two months just to maybe inspire people to write something that they hadn't thought to write before.

Challenges were literally something that I had not thought about two minutes before I posted the poll so I'm totally open to any sort of suggestions.

i would join a challenge comm too! i couldn't run one, but i would definitely join and watch and possibly sometimes write. XD

Throwing in support for a reboot challenge comm. Wouldn't have the time to maintain one myself, but I'd definitely join!

Agreed! A request/fill post every month might be nice, too, for drabbles.

I would love to see challenges as a way to boost fic production but I'd really prefer they not be drabble sized. A lower limit of greater than 1000 words would be awesome.

I also agree with this. Possibly it would mean the challenge would work better on a less frequent basis than if the limits were lower, but I think limits and requirements and less frequent spacing of challenges creates more of a sense of a goal, excitement and community around the challenge for me as a writer. One of the reasons I've never really gotten into weekly challenge communities.
